Fayston Forager
/Wild Vermont Herbal Remedies, Thoughtfully Harvested
At East Warren Community Market, we’re proud to partner with producers who bring deep care, knowledge, and respect for the natural world into what they create. Fayston Forager is a wonderful example of this spirit.
Based right here in the Mad River Valley, Fayston Forager produces small-batch herbal tinctures made from sustainably wild-harvested plants and fungi gathered in the pristine forests of Vermont’s Green Mountains. These botanical remedies are crafted with careful attention to both ecological stewardship and traditional herbal practices.
The tinctures begin with responsibly foraged ingredients such as Japanese knotweed, chaga mushroom, and hawthorn—plants long valued in herbal traditions for their supportive properties. Each batch is made using carefully selected, healthy plant material gathered from clean, remote locations far from roads and industrial agriculture. The result is a potent, thoughtfully crafted herbal product rooted in the wisdom of the landscape around us.
Fayston Forager was founded by local herbalist Marge Keough, whose journey into herbal medicine began through personal experience and years of study. What started as a personal exploration into plant medicine grew into a small local business dedicated to sharing the healing potential of Vermont’s wild plants.
One of Fayston Forager’s most popular offerings is their Japanese Knotweed tincture, made from nutrient-dense rhizomes carefully harvested and processed fresh in small batches. They also produce triple-extraction chaga tincture, made from wild chaga mushroom using a traditional multi-step extraction process designed to capture the full spectrum of the plant’s beneficial compounds.
What we love most about Fayston Forager is their philosophy: harvest with gratitude, take only what the ecosystem can replenish, and craft each product with intention and respect for nature.
You can find a selection of Fayston Forager tinctures right here at East Warren Community Market. If you’re curious about herbal remedies or looking to explore the benefits of wild Vermont botanicals, we invite you to stop by and take a look.
