During the 1976 Fourth of July parade, a group of Warren residents wheeled a towering eagle float down the street, swung it around, and backed its glorious tail feathers over a hole in the ground. What came out? A Sugarbush gondola stuffed with who-knows-what, lowered into the earth like the world’s most patriotic burial. No one wrote down what went inside. It’s been sitting there ever since.
